Four things we do well, and exactly how to use them.

Program 1 of 4
Riverbend Food Pantry
A full week of groceries, chosen off the shelf like a small store, for any household that walks in.
- Who
- Any household in the 12345 ZIP code. No ID, no income paperwork, no questions.
- When
- Tuesday and Thursday, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Saturday, 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
- Where
- 123 Main Street, use the blue door in the alley. Parking behind the building.
- How
- Walk in during pantry hours, or call ahead by noon and we will set a box outside for pickup.
What is included
- Fresh produce, dairy and bread alongside the shelf-stable staples
- Diapers, formula and period supplies at the front counter
- Halal, kosher, gluten free and low sodium options on request
- Curbside boxes for anyone who cannot get inside
Program 2 of 4
After School Tutoring
Homework help and reading practice in a quiet room, four afternoons a week, at no cost to families.
- Who
- Students in grades 2 through 8 who live or go to school in Willow Creek Falls.
- When
- Monday through Thursday, 3:30 PM to 6:00 PM, during the school year.
- Where
- The community room on the second floor at 123 Main Street. Elevator access from the lobby.
- How
- One short registration form, filled out once a year. Spots open the week before school starts.
What is included
- One tutor for every four students, so nobody waits an hour for help
- Reading practice for the younger grades, math and science for the older ones
- A snack at 3:30 PM, because homework goes better after food
- A short note home each Friday about what your student worked on
Program 3 of 4
Riverbend Community Garden
Eighty raised beds on the old lot at Mill and Water, free to any neighbor who wants to grow food.
- Who
- Any resident of Willow Creek Falls or the surrounding townships. First season gardeners welcome.
- When
- April through October. The gate is unlocked from dawn until dusk, seven days a week.
- Where
- The corner lot at Mill Street and Water Street, two blocks north of the pantry.
- How
- Plot requests open the first week of March. Tools, soil, seed and water are provided.
What is included
- Raised beds at two heights, including six built for wheelchair access
- Seedlings, compost and a shared tool shed included with every plot
- Saturday morning work sessions from April to June for anyone who wants a hand
- Whatever a plot cannot use goes straight to the pantry cooler
Program 4 of 4
Senior Friendly Visits
A trained volunteer at the door once a week, for an hour, for neighbors who live alone.
- Who
- Neighbors over 65 who live on their own, and the family members who worry about them.
- When
- One hour a week, on a day and time you pick. Most visits land in the late morning.
- Where
- In your own home, or at the coffee shop on Main Street if you would rather get out.
- How
- Call us or send the form. We match you with a volunteer and you meet them here first.
What is included
- Every volunteer is background checked and trained before their first visit
- The same person each week, so it turns into a real friendship
- A grocery run, a ride to an appointment or a hand with the mail if you need it
- A weekly check in call for the weeks a visit does not work
Need something we do not run? Ask anyway.
Rent help, a ride to a clinic, a winter coat, somebody to sit with you on the phone to the county. We either know who does it in Willow Creek Falls or we find out for you.
